Attorney Rob Ciampitti represents a dynamic & diverse client base of lenders, investors, developers as well as buyers & sellers of real estate – across a variety of land use, zoning, and condo matters ranging from commercial & residential real estate to private financing, development and permitting – including general corporate structure and innovative deal-strategy.
Through his experience in product invention and national mass-market licensing of a children’s plush travel product called: SeatPets attorney Ciampitti continues to provide a strategic “from the trenches” legal counsel to start-up clients across numerous categories of new products and innovative businesses.
In October of 2020, attorney Ciampitti was admitted to Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where he will be completing Harvard’s Advanced Real Estate Management and Development graduate program. From 2013 to 2014, attorney Ciampitti served as a visiting professor of Business Law at the Bertolon School of Business at Salem State University (Salem, MA) and has authored on a variety of environmental law topics, co-authored contributions to Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education publications within this field – and has himself published in the nationally-circulated Environmental Law Journal on the topic of toxicology and expert testimony “Proving the New Generation of Environmental Damages.” Rob has also guest lectured on Environmental Law topics at Boston’s Newbury College as well as a frequent subject-matter expert lecturer, teaching Continuing Education credit courses to various Massachusetts Realtor Associations, agents, and brokers – from Nantucket to Newburyport.
An active licensed pilot since 1989, Mr. Ciampitti holds a Private Pilot’s License with an Instrument Rating and shares his passion for aviation with his wife and two teenage sons, flying for pleasure as well as for business (and is currently completing final FAA training and testing required to earn his Commercial Pilot’s License). Rob also enjoys scouting with his two sons and serves as a Scout Leader and Merit Badge counselor for Scout Troop 21 (Newburyport, MA) and is himself an Eagle Scout – recently joined in that honor by both of his sons.
In June 2011, attorney Ciampitti was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court and remains an active member in good standing and has held a City of Newburyport Mayoral appointment to the Newburyport Zoning Board of Appeals since 2002 – where he currently serves as the Board’s Chairman.
From 2001 to 2014 upon special appointment, attorney Ciampitti served as a Special Assistant Attorney General as special outside legal counsel to the Essex County Sheriff’s Department – Civil Process Division (Essex County, Massachusetts).
Prior to launching his own private practice in 1997, attorney Ciampitti served as an Essex County District Court Special Prosecutor.
During his second summer (between the 2nd & 3rd year of law school), Attorney Ciampitti was one of 3 law students, selected from a national pool of candidates, to serve as a paid Associate for DPLF. In his capacity as a Summer Associate, Attorney Ciampitti participated in drafting Amicus briefs filed in several cases then pending before the Supreme Court of the United States turning on issues related to 5th Amendment “private property rights” issues.
Much of Attorney Ciampitti’s work involved working with members of the United States Senate and their legislative staff on new property rights policy as well as direct and daily interaction with leading think-tanks in and around Capitol Hill and the District.
